【报告题目】Solution Remapping to Accelerate Flow Convergence for Discontinuous Galerkin Methods in Shape Optimization Design

【报告摘要】

(1) A solution remapping technique is developed to accelerate the flow convergence for the intermediate shapes when a high-order discontinuous Galerkin (DG) method is employed as a flow solver in airfoil design problems. Once the shape is updated, the proposed technique is applied to initialize the flow simulation for the new shape via a solution remapping formula and a maximum-and-minimum-preserving limiter.

(2) First, the solution remapping formula is used to remap the solution of the current shape into a piece-wise polynomial on the mesh of the new shape. Then the piece-wise polynomial is constrained with the maximum-and-minimum-preserving limiter. The modified piece-wise polynomial is used as the initial value for the new shape. Numerical experiments show that the proposed technique can attractively accelerate flow convergence and significantly reduce up to 80% of the computational time in the airfoil design problems with a high-order DG solver.

【报告人简介】刘铁钢,北京航空航天大学数学科学学院教授,博士生导师,研究生院副院长兼培养处处长。北京大学数学系理学学士和硕士、新加坡国立大学机械工程系工学博士。19891995年,在中国科学院计算数学研究所工作。19992007年,在新加坡科技局高性能计算研究所工作。主要研究方向为可压缩多介质流体数值方法、气动优化与设计、空化流建模及数值模拟、爆炸冲击中流-固耦合及动边界问题数值模拟等。主持和参与多个国家自然科学基金重点项目,民机专项,中俄国际合作专项、科技部重大专项。曾任中国数学学会理事,中国工业与应用数学学会常务理事,中国计算数学学会常务理事;现任北京市计算数学学会常务理事,《计算数学》等国内期刊及《Numerical MathematicsTheoryMethods and Applications》等国际期刊编委。
